What's my why?

Quite often I am asked this question “what’s your why?” so, for those interested, here it is.

Well, it all started back in January 2015 when I was made redundant from a job that I loved which gave me financial security, a great pension, and a tonne of awesome friends that I still love and cherish today.

At that time my son was only 9 years old and I had an overwhelming sense of wanting to spend more time with him. He started nursery at 6 months old being dropped off at 8 am and collected before 6 pm and even that pattern continued whilst at school.

It was time for me to be there. Although, I was not confident enough to start my own business even though I was sure that was what I wanted to do so I took on another role and it wasn't until July 2017 that I finally did what I wanted and started my own business.

It has given me the time I wanted with my son, but it also meant working harder and learning to work smarter. Compromising, learning new stuff, networking, blowing my own trumpet. Eek, so much of this was way out of my comfort zone. I was literally like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

I'm still here and still working at it and now I can show others how to do it too. Learning so many software packages and systems and keeping processes and procedures in place all goes towards having an efficient and effective business. It’s fun and I know I made the right choice.

I run the fabulous Business Nuts and Bolts Club. It is a safe place for those who are starting their business journey. The truth is when you do work for larger companies you have different departments for different tasks. When you start your own, you are ALL of the departments and I can confidently say that it is truly daunting.

I mean, where the heck do you start? How do you put a social media post together? What software do I need for keeping tasks in check? Financial software? A newsletter platform?

It’s incredibly scary. These are not in your zone of genius and all you want to do is sell your thing, hang out where your clients are, and do stuff you love.

What about the rest? Are you able to outsource right now? Do you even know where to start with that? Will you have to do it all for now? Do you have the time?

If you would like to know more about the Business Nuts and Bolts Club and how it can help you, send me an email with the subject 'MORE INFO PLEASE' to hello@angelabrown.uk and I will get in touch with you.
